Why Whispir chooses to “engage humanity”

When a company releases a new brand, it can be easy to dismiss it as a simple marketing gimmick.

But sometimes a company feels the need to simplify their message. To get away from buzzwords and get back to the simplest explanation of their core purpose.

When we started Whispir 10 years ago, we had a mission to help connect people to one another through a myriad of communications devices and mediums. We explained it in very accurate and technical terms, such as “Cross Channel Communications.”

But what was our real goal? What does “Cross Channel Communications” mean to me, you, or your customers and colleagues?

Recently, we spent a lot of time finding a way to be better communicators, not just be great technologists that can’t help themselves to stop talking about features. So we interrogated our language with the objective of making it quick and easy for people from all backgrounds to connect with the Whispir story. We want to shine a light on all the great things we do so that it is easier for people to self-discover the Whispir value proposition within their context not ours.

There has always been a constant thread that connects every Whispir employee. From the people building the new technologies, to the ones advising customers on how to reach their constituents, we just didn’t use language well to describe what drove what they all did every day.

It didn’t take long for the answer to become quite obvious to us all. Everyone at Whispir has the desire to be authentic about our role in shaping a new communications landscape and to make it easier for companies to Engage Humanity.

So, what does that mean?

Humanity is expansive, personal and interconnected. Humanity is about people, the relationships between people, the diversity of people and how we care about them  and their interactions.

Engaging Humanity is an ambitious proposition that affords us the opportunity to re-think how we see ourselves and what we can do - not just personally, but technologically as well.

At our core, our company is made up of awesome employees who enable a wonderful next generation of communications innovation. Together, we’re building a software service that can help every company design communications applications that can help thousands - if not millions - of people.
