Helping the Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation spread community awareness across Darwin

Overview

Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit based in Darwin servicing the Darwin Daly region. They deliver leading community engagement and employment services to urban, regional, and remote communities throughout the region.

The region is large and expansive. It covers approximately 77,000 square kilometres of land. This can make deploying effective communications a challenge.

The challenge

  1. Information access and distribution

One of Ironbark’s key initiatives is administering and delivering Community Development Programs to jobseekers around the region. Getting information to all communities is a challenge, as Ironbark has an expansive database of 1,000+ people spread across six geographical locations.

These programs are voluntary. They offer opportunities to upskill and reskill people with projects in garden design and maintenance, woodwork and carpentry, fencing, digital literacy, and design technology.

The solutions

  • Example of message building for SMS and email

    Easier message creation

To increase awareness of the availability of these programs and drive further attendance, Ironbark has been designing digital flyers within Whispir’s form-builder for distributing across locations in their database.

Whispir has also made it much easier for the team to execute communications.

    Saved time and higher engagement

Being able to put flyers together with a drag and drop interface saves Ironbark significant time and resources, which they’re able to invest back into what they do best – supporting their community. Sending the information via SMS also capitalises on the incredibly high engagement rates of text messages, ensuring the important communications that Ironbark send are more likely to be seen.

The result

  1. Blue automated communication word bubble icon

    Efficient and customisable communications

The important messages that Ironbark creates within the Whispir platform are easier to forward and share than email. Plus, templates can be saved, duplicated, and amended to make ongoing communication much easier.

Whispir is proud to be able to support Ironbark as they amplify their communications and make sure their important messages are heard throughout communities. To learn more about their great work, visit the Ironbark website.

The platform makes distributing flyers a lot easier. I can copy and reuse templates, and the information goes out to the various groups of people it needs to in our database.”
